About me

Since February 2024, I am a PhD student in Prof. Dr. Annekatrin Steinhoff's research group. In my PhD project, I am studying the physiological manifestations of social stress in childhood and adolescence and their association with self-harming behavior. My main aim is to find out how social stressors, stress physiology and psychopathology are interrelated over the period of adolescence. I am particularly interested in the biological and initially invisible changes that often precede measurable behavior, such as self-harm. I believe that by identifying and understanding such developmental processes at an early stage, we have the opportunity to prevent the onset of psychopathological symptoms and to provide children and young people with resources leading to healthier and happier lives.
