Mental Health Intervention Research
Intervention research in the field of mental health is concerned with investigating the efficacy, effectiveness and efficient dissemination of psychotherapeutic and other psychosocial interventions to promote mental health, as well as with analyzing their therapeutic factors. The focus is therefore on the two main questions: Does an intervention work and how does an intervention work? The latter question examines which characteristics, factors and processes influence the course and outcome of these interventions. In this context, the mechanisms of change that underlie effective interventions are also examined. Ultimately, mental health intervention research aims to develop and implement personalized psychotherapeutic and psychosocial interventions that are tailored to the individual needs and resources of the person being treated in order to achieve the greatest possible therapeutic effect with the best possible efficiency.
